Job summary

Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, seeks a 3rd Shift Material Handler at our Turners Falls, MA facility. You will perform measuring, inspecting, testing and re-spooling to prepare wire and cable for shipping to the next operation.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 months of transferrable experience in a fast-paced environment. Includes a $3.00/hour shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-3 months' transferrable experience requested.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be a good team player.
• Numerical ability with decimals, fractions and use of measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Move materials using documents and instruction, manually or with fork truck.
• Transfer wire between locations as directed and ensure proper transfer.
• Maintain reels and pallets and weigh/record scrap as required.
• Detect defects and report issues to supervision.
• Observe safety rules and keep work areas clean.

Material Handler 3rd Shift

Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a 3rd Shift Material Handler in our Turners Falls, MA facility. Individuals will be responsible for a variety of duties including: Performing required operations connected with measuring, inspecting, testing and re-spooling wire and cable in preparation for shipping r its next operation.

Hiring Range: $19.81-23.44/hour, $3.00/hour 3rd shift differential

Job Duties

• Work from material movement documents, written and verbal instructions, and computer scanning device, records and forms.
• Transfer wire from one location to another as instructed by movement documents and/or written or verbal instructions either manually or fork truck.
• Ensure proper transfer of product.
• Maintain reels and pallets as needed for assigned operations.
• Weigh and record scrap as required.
• Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-3 months' transferrable experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Be a team player, enjoy detailed work and willing to learn
• Position requires knowledge of ordinary arithmetic including decimals, fractions, and simple use of specifications together with use of adjustable measuring instruments.
• Position requires moderate physical effort consisting of frequently moving average weights and continuous mental and visual attention to repetitive work, requiring constant alertness or activity. Working conditions may expose employee to noise, fumes, dust, etc.
• PIV Training and certification will be completed after hire.
