Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY in Mayfield Heights, OH is seeking a Material Handler to unload deliveries, stage products per production orders, and maintain organized inventory on the shop floor. You will support warehouse operations by moving pallets, verifying quantities, and ensuring safe handling of materials.

Third shift runs Monday through Friday, 10:45PM–7:15AM, with a $3/hour incentive after 90 days subject to attendance and company policy.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate a sit-down tow motor, electric pallet jack and manual pallet jack.
• Current or prior forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and documentation.
• Basic math and ability to count inventory and part numbers.
• Competency with scanning devices and basic digital platforms for inventory movement.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming raw materials from delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Inspect containers for damage or defects.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors to move goods.
• Package products per established procedures and specs.
• Transport packages to loading areas using power equipment.
• Report safety, quality, productivity, or personnel concerns to the Team Leader.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Material Handlers are responsible for unloading deliveries, staging products according to production orders, and maintaining organized inventory. They support warehouse operations by managing stock, fulfilling shop floor requests, and moving pallets of raw materials and finished goods.

Third Shift runs Monday through Friday, 10:45PM-7:15AM

Third-shift employees with 90 days of service will receive an additional $3.00 per hour, contingent on attendance and aligned with OMNIs 'Attendance Incentive Program' and procedures. Program duration, incentive amounts, payment schedules, and shift allocations remain subject to company discretion and may be changed, amended, or discontinued at any time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Unload incoming raw materials from delivery trucks safely and efficiently, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage in accordance with company standards.
• Inspect containers to verify they are free from damage or defects.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and powered conveyors to move goods throughout both storage and operating zones.
• Package products in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Transport completed packages to designated loading areas using approved power industrial equipment.
• Promptly report safety, quality, productivity, or personnel concerns to the Team Leader.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

• The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must be able to operate a sit-down tow motor, electric pallets jack and a manual pallet jack.
• Current or prior forklift certification is preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and documentation.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and leadership when issues arise.

• Mathematical Skills

  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to count inventory, verify labels, and understand part numbers.

• Computer Skills
  • Comfortable using scanning devices and basic digital platforms for inventory movement.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, carry, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use manual dexterity
• Grasp, reach, and lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly; 25 pounds frequently; 50 pounds occasionally
• Climb, sit for long periods, and speak/articulate occasionally
• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Material Handlers are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles. While the manufacturing area is climate controlled, employees may experience relatively warm or cold temperatures throughout the year. Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud, however, hearing protection is provided and not necessary in all areas of facility.
