Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking a Material Handler to load and unload items, plan and organize materials to support production, and maintain material flow within the plant. You will work on a second shift with supervision, requiring teamwork and adherence to safety practices.

Responsibilities include operating lift trucks, organizing stockrooms, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure efficient production support. Experience in a warehouse setting and high school diploma are preferred.

  • Ability to plan, deliver, and organize materials for production.
  • Experience working in teams and following safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate and check lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, orders, delivers, and organizes materials to support departments from stockrooms and other manufacturing areas to optimize equipment use.
  • Works with Supervisors to improve material flow, organization, and accuracy.
  • Maintains Kanban replenishment levels to support production needs.
  • Operates power lift trucks in a safe manner, moving materials and products throughout the plant.
  • Ensures loads are boxed, banded, or secured for movement.
  • Performs daily lift truck inspections and keeps workspace clean and safe.

Job Summary

Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. May require a high school diploma with 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Duties & Responsibilities Information:
  • Plans, orders, delivers, and organizes materials to supporting departments from stockrooms and other manufacturing departments to optimize utilization of equipment and labor efficiency
  • Works with supervisors to improve material flow, organization, and accuracy
  • Ensures replenishment levels for KanBan items are properly set and maintained to support production needs
  • Operates power lift trucks in safe manner, moving a variety of materials and products throughout the plant
  • Requires boxing, banding or securing loads for movement
  • Ensures that manufactured components are properly reported prior to moving to another department
  • Daily checks of lift truck to ensure all systems are functional and all safety devices are in place
  • Exercises good housekeeping in work area.
  • Observes good safety practices in performance of job.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader
Necessary Skills:
  • Extensive product knowledge including full understanding bills of materials
  • History of working safely
  • Demonstrated success in working in team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and work without direct supervision
