Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler to support receiving, packing, and shipping operations on the production floor. You will read work orders, identify items, and ensure accurate quantities while keeping documents up to date.

In this fast-paced role, you will use pallet jacks, read receiving tickets, verify product descriptions, and perform visual quality checks with torque testers and related equipment. A strong team player attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve products from designated storage locations and move materials safely using pallet jacks.
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to pick, package, and ship materials.
• Identify items by specifications and ensure correct quantities are selected.
• Pack materials into appropriate containers per packing requirements and protect items during transit.
• Prepare shipping labels, verify addresses, and document shipments.
• Collaborate with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch.
• Perform visual inspections for defects and log verifications using torque testers, Hipot equipment, or hydrostatic testers.
• Update stock levels in the inventory system and communicate shortages or overages.
• Read receiving documents and pick sheets to identify required materials.
• Coordinate the receiving process with labels and documentation.
• Work as a team to meet daily shipping and receiving goals.

As a Material Handler, you will support the development of cutting-edge products from concept through production by ensuring materials and components are accurately received, organized, and delivered to the production floor. • Retrieve products from designated storage locations within the warehouse, including moving materials safely using pallet jacks
• Accurately read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, packaged, and shipped
• Accurately identifying items based on order specifications and ensuring the correct quantity is selected
• Pack all materials into appropriate containers based on specific packing requirements
• Ensure materials are packed effectively to avoid damage during transit
• Coordinate the shipment process by preparing shipping labels, verifying addresses, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete
• Collaborate with shipping carriers to facilitate the timely dispatch of packages
• Conduct visual inspections of products during the picking and packing stages to identify any defects or discrepancies, and log required quality verifications using torque testers, Hipot equipment, and hydrostatic testers
• Utilize inventory management systems to update stock levels and communicate any shortages or overages, as needed
• Work effectively as a team to achieve daily shipping goals
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones
• Accurately read pick tickets and receiving documents, or follow oral instructions to ascertain required materials

• Pick all received materials onto appropriate carts based on manufacturing location or receiving requirements

• Collaborate with vendor carriers to facilitate the timely arrival of incoming materials.
• Conduct visual inspections of products during receiving to identify any defects or discrepancies.
