Job summary

Henny Penny, a global leader in commercial food equipment, is seeking an Entry Material Handler in Eaton, Ohio. You will operate a forklift to collect, stack, and deliver materials, support production, and uphold safety procedures in a fast-paced plant.

Key tasks include inventory checks, Kanban/JDE data entry, maintaining organized work areas, and collaborating with team members to meet daily targets. Must be 18+, with forklift certification and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs, plus basic math

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent experience required.
• 1+ year experience in material handling or operating a forklift required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize internal customer needs.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
• Identifies material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
• Operates equipment for material handling (radios, scanners, trash compactor, and cardboard baler).
• Maintains a clean and orderly area with clear aisles and organized part racks.
• Fills out daily check lists and completes visual inspections.
• Keeps supplies stocked for team's daily needs.
• Responds to team requests in a timely manner.
• Understands how to use JDE Kanban functions (send Kanban cards, track status/history).
• Uses department communication tools for supply needs.
• Models Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Entry Material Handler role is responsible for operating a forklift to collect, stack, and deliver a wide variety of materials within the production plant to support assigned team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
• Identifies material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
• Operates the following equipment associated with material handling: radios, scanners, trash compacter, and cardboard bailer.
• Maintains a clean and orderly area ensuring that; aisle ways are clear, part racks are organized, parts are stocked in posted locations
• Fills out daily check list and completes visual inspections.
• Keeps supplies adequately stocked for team's daily needs.
• Responds to team request in timely manner.
• Understands how to correctly use the following functions within JDE programing (i.e. sending Kanban cards, tracking Kanban card status and history.)
• Utilizes all programs for communication of supply needs in department.
• Models Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values Consistently models the Company values and expected behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High School/GED or equivalent experience Required
• 1+ experience in material handling or operating a forklift Required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.

• Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable)
• Forklift Certification Required
• Crane license required for Punch Cell roles Required
