US Farathane is seeking an experienced Material Handler for the Auburn Hills, MI Plant on the 3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:00am). A $1.50/hr shift premium is offered. The role involves moving materials, assisting with mold changes, and ensuring timely flow of goods from arrival to finish.

Responsibilities include maintaining the central load area, following BOMs, logging changes, and adhering to FIFO. Strong reading and math skills, plus Hi-Lo experience, are required.

Qualifications

  • Basic math for counting parts and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow standard procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Central Load room and manage material changes.
  • Log all material type changes and ensure correct BOM usage.
  • Follow FIFO for materials in central load room and components.
  • Weigh parts when scales are not available and put away finished goods.
  • Keep presses stocked with totes and SKUs; maintain housekeeping.
  • Handle press changes and battery recharges; scan and identify products.

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Material Handler at our Auburn Hills, MI Plant.

3rd shift:11:00pm - 7:00am

Shift Premium: $1.50/hr


US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Summary

The Material Handler follows established policies and procedures, ensure proper and timely flow of all materials and product from arrival until stored as finish goods. Also, providing flow of all in house material and product including rework, scrap machinery, equipment and garbage. This is primarily by driving a hi-lo or by using a hand jack.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain Central Load room – Including correct use of material on all color and material changes
  • Use Bill of Material located on Basic IV for all material changes
  • Log all material type changes
  • Follow FIFO procedure when replacing material in Central Load room and Components
  • Weigh parts running without scales
  • Put away finished product correctly
  • Perform all Housekeeping duties in conformance to the Housekeeping Verification
  • Keep presses stocked with totes and skids
  • Keep returnable storage area stocked
  • Keep front wall, front aisle and back aisle clear at all times
  • Remove all stock, packaging, and assembly equipment from the press at the time of all mold changes
  • Change and recharge batteries when necessary
  • Scan and properly identify all assigned product
  • Any other duties as assigned by Plant Supervision
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hi-lo experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to recognize numbers and not transpose digits.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
