Job summary

Golden Pet Manufacturing® is seeking a Material Handler to support the 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm) in our Wisconsin facility. You will operate a forklift, move raw materials and finished goods, and use ERP systems to process transactions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role involves handling materials, assisting in production workflows, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience and forklift certification, with preference

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• 1-2 years of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience working with ERP system (preferred).
• Experience in a food or pet food manufacturing facility (preferred).
• Experience in an automated manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move material and/or product throughout the plant, including receiving raw materials and loading trucks.
• Maintain safety and quality guidelines and protocols.
• Use scan gun to complete ERP transactions and document related paperwork.
• Protect employees and company safety by safe forklift operation and reporting incidents.
• Sort and place materials on racks according to sequence.
• Fill requisitions and distribute materials to production areas to meet production rate.

We’re Looking For A: Material Handler

Shift: 2nd (2pm - 10:30pm)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Maintain a safety and quality mindset and follow all safety and quality guidelines and protocols
• Operate forklift to move material and/or product throughout the manufacturing plant, including receiving raw materials, moving raw material to production floor, work in progress (WIP) product material to and from production floor, moving finished products to appropriate storage area and loading trucks with finished product for shipment, depending on the assigned area you work in
• Utilize scan gun to complete transactions within ERP system and complete all associated paperwork documenting the transactions
• Protect employees and company safety and security through the safe operation of forklifts and reporting and minimizing occurrences such as damage to property, damage to product, and damage to equipment
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in combos according to predetermined sequence
• Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distributes them to production areas maintaining staging areas with adequate amount of product and/or material in accordance with the required production rate
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed including verifying packing lists and/or product labels
• Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area, including following the appropriate process for department cross-over to avoid cross-contamination
• Support employees in other areas with various production related tasks and/or projects
• Supports and participates in continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks in other areas of the manufacturing plant as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
• 1-2 years of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle
• Forklift certification
• Experience working with ERP system (preferred)
• Experience working in a food or pet food manufacturing facility (preferred)
• Experience working within an automated manufacturing facility
