Job summary

Rust-Oleum Corporation in Brooklyn Park, MN seeks a full-time Material Handler to efficiently and safely process raw materials and shipments, maintaining accurate documentation in SAP. You will move materials, label containers, read work orders, and support warehouse operations across shifts.

The role requires 1–3 years’ experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Forklift skills and SAP/WMS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Aptitude with SAP/WMS System.
• Appropriate forklift and comparable equipment operating skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, move, or route materials to and from production areas and loading docks by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other material handling equipment.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Ensure secure shipment of finished goods by stretch wrapping of palletized products using stretch wrapping equipment and blocking and bracing loads
• Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
• Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
• Perform all material handling functions related to shipping and warehousing, including truck loading, material receiving, storage and supply of filling lines with packaging components
• Receive and store raw materials in their proper place. Process receiving, inventory, and shipping transactions in SAP in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in shipping, receiving, warehouse, and dock areas; promptly communicate all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor or another member of the plant management staff.
• Safely use material handling equipment, including sit-down and standup forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories as necessary.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
