Job summary

O'Neal Steel is hiring a Material Handler for 2nd shift at our St. Joseph, MO facility. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, using forklifts, cranes, and various handling equipment, and reading tape measures to ensure correct material movements.

You will support internal and external customers with accurate, high-quality output. 2nd shift is 2:00PM-10:00PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. A criminal background check and drug test are required upon offer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a variety of material handling equipment.
• Able to accurately read a tape measure.
• Background check and drug test required after offer.

Job description

O'Neal Steel has openings for a Material Handler - 2nd Shift at our St. Joseph, MO facility.

The Material Handler will load and unload material within a warehouse. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

What you will be doing:

• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
• Use a variety of hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc.
• Accurately read a tape measure.
• Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Must be able to work 2nd Shift (2:00PM-10:00PM) Monday - Friday. Overtime will be required as needed.
