Job summary

Barton Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a reliable Material Handler in Lockport, IL to support production by keeping machine hoppers supplied with material, assisting with molding and assembly lines, and handling color changes.

This 2nd shift role runs Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM and converts from temporary to permanent based on performance. The position requires attention to safety and housekeeping, with duties including recording lot numbers, transferring materials, and performing PMs

Responsibilities

• Keep machine hoppers supplied with material throughout the shift.
• Check machines at shift start to ensure hoppers do not run empty.
• Review press quantities and monitor floor activities for color/material changes.
• Weigh all material/WIP returned to staging and complete transfer tickets.
• Maintain proper closure of Gaylords to prevent contamination.
• Clean dryers, grinders, and blenders after the job is completed.
• Record resin, colorant, and slip lot numbers on control sheets.
• Complete transfer tickets when moving material to/from the warehouse.
• Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety procedures and company policies.

Material Handler

We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to support production operations by keeping machine hoppers supplied with material. This position will also assist with molding and assembly lines, color changes, and other cell support functions as needed.

Job Details

Location: Lockport, IL

Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Position: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $16.50/hour

Responsibilities

• Keep machine hoppers supplied with material throughout the shift.
• Check machines at the beginning of each shift to ensure hoppers do not run empty.
• Review press quantities and monitor floor activities to anticipate color or material changes.
• Weigh all material/WIP returned to the material staging area and complete transfer tickets.
• Keep all Gaylords properly closed to prevent contamination.
• Clean dryers, grinders, and blenders after the job is completed.
• Record resin, colorant, and slip lot numbers on the appropriate lot control sheets.
• Record scrapped parts and purging on the shift report.
• Set up scales as needed on machines and make/close boxes.
• Move audited products to finishing staging in the warehouse.
• Move assembly products to the designated north wall area.
• Move quarantined products to the designated hold area.
• Complete transfer tickets when moving material to and from the warehouse.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
