Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Elyria Plastic Products has been a leader in the industry for 39 years, manufacturing custom plastic parts for our customers. Not only do we manufacture plastic parts, but we also provide mold making and precision machining services. We have a reputation for delivering quality, timeliness, and innovation.

We are seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler to join our team. The right candidate will need to be a team player because they are the backbone of the production department. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position. Overall, they will be responsible for loading materials into the machines, inventory, and moving products throughout the facility. We are willing to train the right career-minded person.

• Weekly Pay - Starting at $18.00 an hour or higher based on experience
• Schedule - Monday through Friday (no weekends) 3 pm-11:30 pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read the work order and follow oral instructions to select the materials or containers to be moved.
• Mix, load, and unload materials into or from the machines.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, and other storage devices.
• Move materials from storage, work sites, or designated areas
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of material moved to staging areas
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together
• Remove samples of materials, label with identifying information, and take samples to the laboratory for analysis
• Print the moisture analysis report to record the lot numbers for the material to be checked for moisture
• Maintain adequate hopper levels to keep machines running- do not allow levels to run low, which may jeopardize the integrity of the molded parts
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist and clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators
• Set up the grinders to grind scrap, and then clean the grinders
• Clean the dryers and hoppers thoroughly to prevent cross-contamination of materials
• Print material control reports for current and upcoming changeovers
• Read and interpret the production schedule to be prepared for upcoming changeovers
• Navigate IQMS to determine the types and locations of materials needed
• Must be able to operate a tow motor and scan guns for material moves
  
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Standing, walking long distances, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching are required for the position many times a day or extended periods.
• Above average computer, reading, communication (verbal and written), and math skills.
