Job summary

Gehl Food & Beverage is hiring a Material Handler for the 2nd shift in Germantown, WI. The role focuses on safe and efficient movement of materials and finished goods, and operating secondary packaging equipment to support production and quality standards.

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 2:00PM–10:00PM, with base pay plus shift differential and opportunities for bonuses, benefits, PTO, and career growth within a collaborative team culture that values communication and wellness.

• Perform daily forklift inspections and follow safety and GMP requirements.
• Monitor packaging operations for food safety and quality.
• Record inventory movements and production data.
• Identify and report quality issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and participate in training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay: Base + Shift differential = $21.50 (+ based on experience)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and finished goods throughout the plant, as well as operating secondary packaging equipment to support production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely transfer raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and secondary packaging equipment (case erectors, packers, sealers, palletizers, etc.).
• Perform daily forklift inspections and follow all safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor packaging operations to ensure food safety, quality, and customer specifications.
• Conduct equipment cleaning, inspections, troubleshooting, and minor adjustments.
• Perform changeovers, line clears, labeling, and coding setup.
• Accurately record inventory movements, production data, and work logs (MES).
• Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and participate in team meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
