Job summary

Ammega is seeking a Material Handler to support safe and efficient warehouse operations in Beacon, NY. The role focuses on shipping, receiving, put-aways, and inventory control, with emphasis on accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced plant setting.

You will handle material receipts, pick and pack orders, cycle count inventories, and navigate our ERP system to ensure timely flow of goods to machines. Proven teamwork and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Tow motor experience/pallet jack.
• Flexible with hours.
• Computer experience (MS Office/Excel).
• Warehouse experience with barcode scanners.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with team and carriers.
• Coordinate safety and 5S practices in the warehouse.
• Manage shipping/receiving of freight and put-aways.
• Locate and stage material for production and machines.
• Execute picking orders and cycle counting.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow quality procedures.
• Support material handling and ERP transactions.
• Assist with logistics and other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Communicates effectively.

The Material Handler is accountable for safety, 5S, shipping, receiving freight, locating freight, put-aways, picking orders, shipping & receiving, cycle counting, assembly, process improvement and team productivity.

• Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
• Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.
• Manage workflow and delivery of merchandise throughout the plant.
• Coordinate and execute the delivery of materials to machines from its inventory location.
• Reweigh and return any residual unused material. Make sure it is labeled with name of material and qty.
• Coordinate and execute the movement of work order in process to each machine, as needed.
• Stage finished goods neatly in designated finished goods location
• Transacting materials consumed by production in ERP
• Maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s)
• Pick orders timely & correctly
• Cycle count materials
• Learn & navigate our inventory control system
• Ability to check-in, put away parts
• Prepare handling of goods
• Material receipts
• Ability to pick & pack orders sturdy & presentable
• Support shipping/receiving
• Other duties as assigned
• $21.07 per hour 1st shift (+$1.00 shift differential for 2nd)

Requirements of the job

Physical demands

• Ability to frequently lift-up to 55 pounds.
• This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing; use of hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• This position requires frequent communications with other employees and freight carriers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
