ABEC Bethlehem seeks a Material Handler to manage daily inventory using an ERP system, ensuring accurate counts and timely replenishment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will perform transactions for received materials, issue to production or service orders, and maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts and audits, while supporting CI efforts and coordinating with purchasing on item disposition. Forklift operation and lifting are required.

Qualificações

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of post-graduate experience in a related field.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Manage inventory transactions for materials received into stock or issued for production or service orders.
• Enter data into ERP to reflect material movements and production/fulfillment activities.
• Maintain accurate counts in stockroom and ERP; perform cycle counts and audits.
• Prepare, package, and issue materials per Shop Orders or Bills of Material; verify part numbers and quantities.
• Monitor Min/Max stocked items; initiate orders for production supplies as needed.
• Support Production, QC/Receiving, and other departments as required.
• Assist CI initiatives and identify process improvements for accuracy and productivity.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on returns or disposition of slow-moving or obsolete items.
• Operate forklifts and related equipment to move freight.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

The Material Handler manages inventory through a database and maintains levels required on a daily basis to meet distribution demands.

• Perform all necessary inventory transactions for materials & components being received into stock or issued out of stock for Production or Customer Service orders.
• Perform necessary data entry into ERP system to reflect movement of materials and components utilized for production of equipment or fulfillment of Service orders.
• Maintain accurate and complete counts of all inventory items in both the stockroom locations and as represented in the ERP system. Conduct periodic cycle counts and physical audits to reconcile inventory levels between stockroom and ERP system.
• Prepare, package and physically issue materials and components to Production in accordance with respective Shop Orders, Pick Lists or Bills-of-Material, verifying accuracy of Part No., quantity and Serial or Lot Number, as may apply.
• Monitor and report status of all materials stocked on a Min/Max basis to ensure adequate quantities are available at all times. Initiate orders for production supplies or consumable materials as requested.
• Assist the Production Department and the QC/Receiving Department as may be needed from time-to-time.
• Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies involving proper identification, quantity, location or inventory status of all materials and components utilized in the production function.
• Evaluate current procedures and propose process improvements that can increase accuracy, efficiency or productivity of activities in this or other departments.
• Assist with inventory analyses to identify and segregate slow-moving or obsolete items. Coordinate with Purchasing Department for items that can be returned to vendors or require some other disposition.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills required. Must be able to move around an ERP system to transact items.
• Prepare materials and related documentation for transfer to other ABEC warehouse locations or process incoming inventory transfers accordingly.
• Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to move freight.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum; an Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• 3 years post graduate work in a related field or function.
• Must have computer skills, Microsoft Excel.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./ 23 kilograms.
• Typical work is in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.
• You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items.
• Exposure to loud noises.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
• Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
• Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
• Ability to travel when required.
