Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Material Handler 2 to move material (glass and/or metal) within the plant, reporting to the Production Supervisor. This role emphasizes safety, quality, reliability, and problem solving as a key member of the Production Team.

Starting pay is $22 per hour. Responsibilities include loading/unloading from various surfaces, reading work orders, applying labels, and interpreting measurements with a tape measure.

Qualifications

• Independence and time management skills.
• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand and move for 8–10 hours on concrete.
• Tolerance for moderate to high noise levels.
• Ability to work in plant climate conditions (heat, cold, humidity).

Responsibilities

• Move material including glass and/or metal to expedite the product through the plant.
• Load and unload product from tables, racks, trucks or crates.
• Read work orders and follow safety and quality standards.
• Label and tag products and packages.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler 2 is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Team, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Starting pay is $22 per hour.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
