Job summary

Golden Pet Manufacturing in Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler on the 1st shift to support production by moving materials and keeping the plant safe.

You will sort, store, and distribute materials, operate forklifts and automation systems, and help maintain clean, efficient work areas while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Prior material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves or in combinations according to a predetermined sequence.
• Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distribute to production areas.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Operate forklift and automation system to move product throughout the plant.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area.
• Report safety incidents and protect people and property.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You\'ll Be Doing:

• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in combos/vats according to predetermined sequence
• Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distribute to production areas
• Record amount of materials or items received or distributed
• Operate forklift and automation system to move product throughout the manufacturing plant, including moving raw material to production floor and finished goods to packaged storage
• Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area
• Protect employees and company safety and security through reporting and stopping occurrences such as damage to product and/or property, theft, product tampering and questionable behavior
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior material handling experience and experience operating powered industrial vehicles
• Constant walking, standing, bending and stooping and bending
• Frequent lifting of items up to 20 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment with cold temperatures and a wet environment
• Strong teamwork mentality and eager to work in a team environment
