Job description

O'Neal Steel has openings for a Material Handler on the 1st shift (6am - 2pm, Mon-Fri) at our Shelbyville, IN facility.

The Material Handler will load and unload materials within a warehouse, utilizing equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, or other handling tools to move materials to and from trucks, trains, and within the storage facility. The role requires knowledge of common practices and procedures, relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines. Independent judgment is generally not required for primary job functions.

Job Requirements
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, stacker cranes, side loaders, yard dogs, etc.
  • Use hand tools such as grinders, banders, drills, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
  • Read a tape measure accurately.
  • Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers related to their position's output.

Overtime may be required as needed.

  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test upon employment offer.
