Job description

Material Handler (1st Shift) - O'Neal Steel / St. Joseph

O'Neal Steel has openings for a Material Handler on the 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm) at our St. Joseph, MO facility.

The Material Handler will load and unload materials within a warehouse, utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move materials to and from trucks, trains, and within the storage facility. The role requires knowledge of standard practices and procedures, with tasks typically performed under instructions and pre-established guidelines, without requiring independent judgment.

What you will be doing:

  • Operate a variety of material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, stacker cranes, side loaders, yard dogs, etc.
  • Use various hand tools such as grinders, banders, drills, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
  • Read measuring tools accurately, such as tape measures.
  • Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers, ensuring output meets expectations.

Work Schedule: Must be able to work the 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm). Overtime may be required as needed.

Additional Requirements: Upon employment, candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
