Job Title: Material Handler - 1st Shift, Mon-Fri

Job Purpose: To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and in an orderly manner; maintain warehouse area with proper stacking and good housekeeping; load/unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; store stock properly in the warehouse; perform duties related to material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Work from warehouse operation sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers. Maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient warehouse operation.
2. Operate sit-down forklift and/or Walkie Rider.
3. Understand and use computers and handheld RF equipment.
4. Load and unload RJW trucks/trailers safely and efficiently, including outside carrier equipment.
5. Work flexible 10 to 12-hour shifts when necessary; comfortable working at heights.
6. PICK and move stock weighing from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
7. Ensure shipments are staged and loaded correctly.
8. Maintain warehouse with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
9. Process outbound cross-dock freight as needed.
10. Properly store stock and move products into storage racks.
11. Use warehouse sheets and forklifts to pick customer orders and load trailers.
12. Verify shipment accuracy against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
13. Complete all documentation accurately.
14. Operate forklifts safely, following OSHA and company safety policies, including wearing seatbelts at all times.
15. Perform daily forklift maintenance inspections.
16. Handle customer products properly and orderly.
17. Check deliveries for damage or poor packing; report issues to Supervisor, taking pictures if necessary.
18. Report accidents/incidents immediately.
19. Spot trailers to maintain yard organization and equipment flow.
20. Keep dock doors accessible and free of debris or snow.
21. Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with urgency and accountability, with limited supervision.
• Possess basic computer and RF equipment skills.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Pay attention to detail and quality.
• Maintain good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Work overtime and cover other shifts as needed.
• Experience with sit-down forklifts/EPJs, pallet building, and cross-docking preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications
