Job summary

AKG North America is seeking a Material Handler for 1st shift in Mitchell, SD. You will unload shipments, sort parts, and prepare weekly outbound Midwest shipments, while keeping SAP-based inventory records up to date.

The role requires forklift certification, a valid driver's license, English proficiency, and the ability to learn SAP. You will work 6AM-2PM, Monday to Friday, and must maintain accuracy and organization in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, review packing slips, and maintain accurate records.
• Unload incoming trucks, sort parts, and place materials on the welding line.
• Prepare and load weekly Midwest shipments; confirm shipping and delivery reports.
• Use SAP to locate, retrieve, and track inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and notify Purchasing when replenishment is needed.
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed.
• Report issues to the Supervisor immediately.
• Follow all environmental, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

About the Role

As a Material Handler, you’ll support the flow of materials across the plant by unloading shipments, documenting and sorting incoming parts, keeping inventory updated, and preparing weekly outbound shipments for Midwest distribution.
