Job summary

Amerhart is seeking a full-time 1st Shift Material Handler at our Sun Prairie, WI facility to join our VALUES based organization. Primary duties include shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material while supporting the Operations team and upholding safety policies.

Starting pay is $22.50 per hour. Candidates should have forklift experience, be team players, and show initiative to maintain accurate inventory and efficient workflow in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and replenish warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift and report shortages or damage.
• Use handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting.
• Coordinate with WMS Coordinator for questions and updates.
• Band, wrap, and prepare material for shipping; manage weight distribution.
• Follow safety procedures and cross-train others as needed.

Job description

Amerhart is currently looking for a full-time 1st Shift Material Handler for our Sun Prairie facility to join our VALUES based organization.

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical.

• Starting pay for this position is $22.50 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

-Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
-Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled. Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc. Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
-Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
-Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
-Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
-Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
-Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance of Miscellaneous Functions

Fill orders for incoming customers.
Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.
Personal Attributes and Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross-functional team environment.
Working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities.

Qualifications

Prior Forklift experience is required.
Neat and clean appearance.
Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
