Job summary

Specialty Building Products, a leading distributor of specialty building products, is seeking Material Handlers for our Green Bay facility. The role focuses on shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material within a safety-conscious team environment.

The position offers 1st shift hours (7:30am CST start). High school diploma and warehouse experience preferred; forklift use and WMS familiarity advantageous. Benefits included with full-time employment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload common carrier trucks and rail cars; replenish product in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
  • Report shortages or damaged material and coordinate changes with sales team.
  • Use handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting per WMS.
  • Collaborate with WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
  • Band, wrap and prepare material for shipping; ensure safe weight distribution on trucks.
  • Follow safety procedures and policies in all warehouse duties.
  • Fill orders for incoming customers; perform routine warehouse maintenance; inspect forklift daily.

POSITION SUMMARY

Amerhart is currently hiring for Material Handlers in our Green Bay - Amerhart facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical.

1st Shift hours are from 7:30am CST till work is finished for the day.

Hourly Pay Rate: $21.25/hour + Benefits

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled. Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc. Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance of Miscellaneous Functions

Fill orders for incoming customers.
Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.

Qualifications
High School Diploma
1-2 years warehouse experience required with some experience in a distributorship preferred.
Neat and clean appearance.
Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
