Job summary

FC Industries is seeking a Material Handler to keep production flowing at our Dayton-area facility. You’ll assist operators, move materials, and help maintain a safe, efficient workspace in a family-owned manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manually or with hand truck, move materials to support production.
  • Stack skids or containers in designated areas.
  • Clean up scrap, cardboard, and strapping; dispose properly.
  • Use tools like hammers and crowbars to remove strapping and open crates.
  • Aid operators with daily material movement and supply needs.
  • Assist other departments when not occupied with material moving duties.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Job Duties as a Material Handler
  • Manually or using hand truck, perform various material handling duties in the facility.
  • Stack skids or containers in designated areas.
  • Clean up and dispose of scrap, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas.
  • Use tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, etc.
  • Perform duties pertaining to material movement to assist operators in their daily responsibilities.
  • May be required to assist in other departments when not occupied in material moving duties.
  • Making sure all safety and personal protective gear are in place at all times.
  • Follow Work Instructions, procedures, and company policies.
  • Other duties as required
Requirements
Physical Requirements for a Material Handler:
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk, push, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
  • Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force regularly.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements such as bending over an extended period of time.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; objects up to 55 pounds occasionally
Competencies:
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Able to safely operate materials moving equipment, including industrial powered trucks (forklifts/lifting equipment)
