Job summary

IPG in Atlanta, GA is hiring a Material Handler to move materials around the plant and support production. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and is hourly non-exempt.

You will operate powered industrial trucks, stage finished goods, track inventory, and maintain safety with IPG lean practices. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2+ years manufacturing experience, and a PIT license. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years manufacturing experience, including PIT operation.
• Licensed for PIT usage under IPG protocols.
• Ability to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, math skills, and English written communication.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours; lift up to 50 lbs; full arm motion.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials to production lines using powered industrial trucks.
• Track and sort inventory; stage finished product per supervisor.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Relieve in production as assigned and trained.

Title: Material Handler
Department: Operations
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Purpose: The Material Handler moves supplies throughout the plant.

Principle Accountabilities

• Utilizing powered industrial trucks, moves raw materials to the production lines, organizes assigned work area, and stages finished product as per instructions from supervisor.
• Tracks and sorts inventory while loading trailers for outbound shipment and assures accuracy of materials and products entering and exiting production facility
• Completes required paperwork
• Relieves in production as assigned and trained
• Performs all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
• Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Essential Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience, including previous powered industrial truck experience required.
• Licensed for Powered Industrial Truck usage under IPG protocols.
• Must have the ability to meet objectives with minimum supervision.
• Must have basic computer skills, math skills, and English written communication skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis
• Ability to consistently lift arms and work within full range of arm motion
