Job summary

IPG is seeking a Material Handler in Illinois to move supplies with powered industrial trucks, stage finished products, and support a safe, efficient production floor. This hourly non-exempt role offers hands-on work and growth within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, 2+ years manufacturing, PIT certification, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic computer skills. Shift: 7 AM–7:15 PM; emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years manufacturing experience, including PIT operation.
  • Licensed for Powered Industrial Truck usage under IPG protocols.
  • Ability to meet objectives with minimum supervision.
  • Basic computer skills, math skills, and English written communication skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials to production lines using powered industrial trucks.
  • Track and sort inventory; stage finished product.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Relieve in production as needed.
  • Maintain safety-first mindset and follow IPS lean manufacturing practices.
  • Perform related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Position Description

Title: Material Handler

Department: Operations

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Shift: 7 AM - 7:15 PM

Position Purpose: The Material Handler moves supplies throughout the plant.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Utilizing powered industrial trucks, moves raw materials to the production lines, organizes assigned work area, and stages finished product as per instructions from supervisor.
  • Tracks and sorts inventory while loading trailers for outbound shipment and assures accuracy of materials and products entering and exiting production facility
  • Completes required paperwork
  • Relieves in production as assigned and trained
  • Performs all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 2+ years manufacturing experience, including previous powered industrial truck experience required.
  • Licensed for Powered Industrial Truck usage under IPG protocols.
  • Must have the ability to meet objectives with minimum supervision.
  • Must have basic computer skills, math skills, and English written communication skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis
  • Ability to consistently lift arms and work within full range of arm motion
