Material Handler 1 - Receiving - 1st Shift

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Start Time: 6am; Days off: Saturday & Sunday

Pay: $20.50/hr

Must be proficient with the stand-up forklift, as well as handy with power tools, as you will be fixing broken pallets outside.

Position Summary:

The Material Handler 1 is responsible for moving products using a forklift/pallet jack within the warehouse. This position is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes.
  2. Move products and/or pallets from one location to another using a forklift or pallet jack.
  3. Maintenance of the trash dock. Clean/sanitize the compactor and surrounding dock area. Empty trash compactors when full.
  4. Monitor trash dumpsters to ensure items/products are being disposed of properly. Bail plastic and cardboard materials to load onto the trailer.
  5. Monitor inventory of iGPS and wooden pallets and report to the Warehouse Coordinator/Supervisor.
  6. Maintain a clean working environment, including: Warehouse areas, Coolers, Docks, and Trailers.
  7. Ensure all areas remain clean and tools are returned to rightful locations.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts, and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
