Material Handler 1 - Bindery - 12-hr Night Shift Fixed Front

Shift Details

This position is for a 12-hour night shift fixed front (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine materials or components needed.
• Lay up, feed, or pile materials at equipment.
• Jog product off the counter stacker and stack neatly on skid to ensure smooth operation in bindery or mailing department.
• Separate signatures by hand based on customer specifications.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials handled daily.
• Complete skid flags and packaging slips for accurate tracking.
• Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit, using hand tools.
• Attach labels or tags to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or containers.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles, banding them together with a banding machine and clincher.
• Operate automated equipment and/or industrial trucks or electric hoists to load or move materials and products as needed.

Additional Skills and Knowledge

• Able to feed, stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, and rotate items on/off bindery and finishing equipment under guidance.
• Complete forms related to stock description, quantity, and labeling requirements.
• Basic knowledge of warehouse layout, item codes, and procedures to place or retrieve materials properly.
• Proficient with manual dollies, carts, hand trucks, and hand tools used in material handling.

The pay range for this role at the specified location is $16.83 to $22.71 per hour. The actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.
