Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Material Handler - Ludington to join our team in Ludington.

Operates forklift and/or hi-lo (sit and stand), hand truck, ladder, picker, or reach forklift, to pick, put away, or sort to manage flow of incoming/outgoing production and/or warehouse material. Rotates through warehouse in any of these functions. Delivers products to appropriate areas or drop points, ensuring timely delivery.

Essential Functions
  • Picks, delivers, moves, or stages material/product as required to ensure product throughput is timely, accurate, and damage-free.
  • Performs visual product quality audit, manipulating product for visual check. Verifies parts received against pick tickets for accurate counts, colors, part numbers, and packaging to ensure customer deliveries of accurate product selection.
  • Pulls and prints pick tickets; checks and verifies floor stock through Locator, Advanced Manufacturing Accounting Production System (AMAPS), and/or Irista to ensure warehouse accuracy, utilizing personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse.
  • May use scan guns and radio frequency (RF) equipment to perform system transactions during movement of product for accurate and complete customer shipments.
  • Pulls empty skids and pinracks from warehouse locations and dock areas and deposits them in appropriate areas to facilitate warehouse operations.
  • Picks up, sorts, and delivers trash/recyclables to Automated Guidance Vehicles (AGVs) for delivery to recycle area, assisting with orderliness of warehouse.
  • Physically moves and manipulates product/material frequently weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more, throughout work center (assistance given with heavier objects by work partner[s]).
  • Performs routine maintenance and inspection of hi-los each day and changes hi-lo battery as needed to ensure proper maintenance of equipment. May change propane tanks, requiring lifting/moving tanks weighing up to sixty pounds to heights up to five feet.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds company productivity, quality, and timeliness expectations for position.
  • Follows all safety requirements and communicates any safety concerns.
  • Performs all duties as assigned to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands; may work more than eight hours per day and/or forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Rotates through department work centers based on business need.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Do you meet these qualifications?
EDUCATION
  • Eighth grade education or equivalent.
  • Must obtain and retain valid hi-lo license.
WORK REQUIREMENTS and EXPERIENCE
  • One year warehouse experience.

OR

  • Six months Haworth material handling experience.
ENVIRONMENTAL and PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasional exposure to irritating elements (i.e., noise, vibration, dust, fumes, weather, battery acid).
  • Large machinery utilized in work area.
  • Eye protection required; hearing protection may be required.
  • Lifts material/product weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more (assistance given with heavier objects).
  • Constant mental and visual attention required when operating equipment.

Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for the position. required.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
  • Good visual and depth perception required.
  • Good hand/eye coordination to maneuver hi-lo in tight areas.
  • Ability to frequently lift/move product and material weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred.
