Job summary

Latitude 36 Foods is seeking a Material Handler 1 for the 2nd shift in Salinas, CA to ensure timely supply and staging of raw product for production. You will support tote supply from the tote staging area and help maintain GMP and SQF readiness, following SOPs to keep operations safe and efficient.

The role requires PIT certification and the ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, with the pace of a fast-moving environment and bilingual English/Spanish as a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess PIT training with an active license/certification within 3 years and 6 months of PIT operator experience.
• Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up PIT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to successfully complete the Power Industrial Truck Certification Program.
• Ensure 'Safety First' is always practiced and observes and adheres to all job safety rules.
• Abide by ALL Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ensure warehouse is always in SQF Audit readiness.
• Ability to drive the forklifts in a safe manner.
• Ensure and organize supply of raw goods to production staging areas.
• Ability to support tote supply function, transferring totes from tote staging area to production.
• Performing assigned tasks, as required per SOP guidelines.
• Understanding of allergen and organic warehousing regulations.
• Able to complete all other required documentation per SOP guidelines.
• Complete other assignments as requested by leadership.

Compensation Details

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $22.50/hr

Additional Compensation Benefits

• Shift Differential: $0.50/hr while working on 2nd shift.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler 1 has the responsibility to ensure timely supply and staging of raw product for production. Supports with tote supply to production from designated tote staging area. Ensures all other processes and procedures meet or exceed those standards established by Latitude 36 Foods and its customers.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess previous PIT training with a license/certification active within 3 years, and with 6 months of PIT operator experience.
• Must be able to operate sit-down, stand-up, among other PIT machinery.

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum formal education, HS Diploma preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to work with changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirement/Environment

• Ability to stand for long periods of time with extensive walking and working in refrigerated coolers (32*).
• Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds or more frequently as needed.
• Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary in position.
