Description

This is primarily a warehouse position that may require some forklift experience. The role involves providing shipping and receiving support for projects, maintaining inventory control, operating warehouse equipment, and participating in warehouse maintenance and cleaning. The work is performed with a high degree of independence.

Responsibilities

1. Receive, store, and issue materials and supplies to project sites.
2. Load and unload supplies, materials, and equipment; place incoming supplies on shelves or in designated areas; climb ladders to stock shelves; maintain an orderly and safe warehouse facility.
3. Move materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site, following work orders or oral instructions.
4. Open containers with hand tools such as steel cutters, crowbars, or hammers.
5. Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves manually.
6. Load materials into vehicles, securing them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
7. Convey materials to or from storage or work sites using hand trucks, forklifts, wheelbarrows, or other devices.
8. Secure lifting attachments to materials and move loads using cranes or hoists, signaling operators as needed.
9. Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled daily.
10. Attach labels or tags to materials and mark information on containers.
11. Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together using banding machines.
12. Set up portable conveyors or position conveyor sections to facilitate movement of materials or products.
13. Lift heavy objects manually or with power hoists; clean work areas, machines, and equipment.
14. Assemble crates for shipping products using hand tools and pre-cut lumber.
15. Shovel loose materials like gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into wheelbarrows, trucks, or barrels.
16. Occasionally operate forklifts, trucks, or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
17. Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
18. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record within company parameters.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• 0-2 years of experience.

Additional Preferences

Helpers with a minimum of 6 months documented field experience in the relevant craft discipline are preferred. Must be able to read and interpret instructions and documentation. Responsibilities and requirements may vary depending on experience level and assigned job steps.
