Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for manually or by using a hand truck moving materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated areas within the facility or onto trucks. This position typically reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Lead.

Responsibilities

• Perform various material handling duties manually or with a hand truck within the facility.
• Load finished products onto pallets or hand trucks manually.
• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
• Provide cleaning services as necessary, including sweeping floors, cleaning offices, and removing trash to proper containers or designated areas.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by performing related tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours.
• Ability to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Frequent walking in the distribution center and surrounding areas, which are over a quarter mile in length.
• Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations, and access all areas of the building without limitations.
• Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Attention to detail.
