Saab, Inc. in West Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a self-motivated Materials Handler to join a team that supports the T-7A Red Hawk program.

You will move stock, receive consignments, and help maintain accurate inventory in a production environment. This role requires high school diploma, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, forklift operation after certification, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Apply inventory concepts with guidance from senior material handlers.
• Receive consignments including program and non-program deliveries.
• Move material from receiving to stock locations and to inspection.
• Perform ERP transactions to receive and stock production material.
• Kit production and/or prototype material for release to production.
• Contribute to cycle count activities and material movements.
• Use tools and computer systems to support warehouse operations.
• Support Saab values and maintain a people-first culture.

Job Description:

At Saab in West Lafayette, Indiana, you have the opportunity to join a team that manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Red Hawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. The flagship facility utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques and leverages research and development to support Saab's broad product portfolio.

Responsibilities may include:

• Apply inventory concepts with guidance from senior material handlers
• Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine Inventory issues and assigned tasks
• Utilize stockroom and production principals, techniques, and company standards
• Receive all consignments including program and non-program deliveries
• Convey material from receiving dock to incoming inspection and to appropriate stock location
• Convey non-production material to courier for internal deliveries
• Pick, crate and configurematerials for shipments
• Perform all necessary transactions within ERP to receive and stock production material
• Kit production and/or prototype material for release to production
• Perform cycle count activities
• Set-up and perform movement of material between the company's storage locations
• Effectively use appropriate tools and computer skills
• Contributes to a people-first culture in alignment to Saab values, demonstrating core Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support
• Other tasks as assigned and authorized

Compensation:

Starting Pay Rate - Up to $22.00 per hour

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a high-performance team
• Proven ability to multi-task, with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrates reliability and dependability in support of team goals
• Must be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periods
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as consistent bending, stooping, twisting, grasping, gripping, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, reaching throughout a normal workday
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, and lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently, and up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift, after satisfactory completion of Saab certification
• Ability to work extended hours and weekend overtime when required

Preferred:

• 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of warehousetools, software and other technologies is a plus

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
