Material Handler
Location: West Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $30.26
Shift: 2nd (3pm-11pm)

While reporting to the shift supervisor as the Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely handling all products and materials.

This position is responsible for safe and accurate transfer of materials and finished goods to their proper locations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Load/unload trailers

  • Keep warehouse organized; materials and finished product

  • Housekeeping and proper maintenance of forklift batteries

  • Moves material, pallets, or finished products between trucks, outside storage or warehouse to and from production lines

  • Must have an exceptional safety record, no Safety documented discipline in the employee file over the past 12 months.

  • Must Become Sonoco certified forklift operator.

  • Must be a Team player and able to follow instructions.

  • Capable of supplying production lines with correct raw material in a safe manner.

  • Responsible for accuracy, condition and timeliness of shipping materials and finished goods for both inbound and outbound shipments as needed.

  • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all required documentation of the position.

  • Responsible for housekeeping, organization and cleanliness of assigned area.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as scheduled.

  • Responsible and capable of assisting with monthly plant physical inventory as scheduled.

  • Must be capable of: charging, watering, changing and maintaining forklift batteries as needed.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as scheduled.

  • Available for any shift as needed
