Job summary

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Co in Webb City, MO is seeking a Material Handler to perform basic entry-level duties in the machine shop, focusing on organization and tracking of raw materials, forklift and overhead crane operation, and general assembly. This full-time position offers a day shift 7:00 am–3:30 pm or a late shift 3:30 pm–midnight, 40 hours weekly with overtime possible.

Responsibilities

• Loading/unloading steel and other materials; moving materials within facility.
• Operating forklift or training to operate forklift safely.
• Identifying, storing, stacking, and staging products; assisting with inventory counts.
• Performing routine cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Assisting in movement of material using hand-operated hoist/crane.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Material Handler

Full Time Manual Labor Webb City, MO, US

Salary Range: $17.75 To $19.85 Hourly

Summary/Objective

The Material Handler position is responsible for basic entry level duties and responsibilities in the Machine Shop, regarding organization and tracking of raw materials which includes forklift and overhead crane operation, as well as general assembly.

Essential Functions

• Loading, unloading, of steel and other materials from flatbed trucks/trailers, and movement of material within the facility, yard, or work site.
• Opening of containers utilizing steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammers, etc.
• Load/unload parts onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves or secure into vehicles.
• Forklift operation or willing and able to be trained to safely operate a forklift
• Must identify, store, stack, organize and stage product, and assist with inventory counts.
• Sweeping, cleaning, removal of trash, and scrap, as well as various janitorial duties.
• Use of hand-operated hoist/crane to assist in movement of material.
• Preventative maintenance as required, and other tasks as assigned.
• At times job can be very labor intensive.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Two (2) years of manufacturing experience and us of crane, forklift or similar equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1 st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 2 nd shift - 3:30pm to midnight, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
