Job summary

Coho Consulting Group is seeking a Material Handler to support aircraft sustainment and supply-chain operations by receiving, handling, moving, tagging, and transferring aircraft parts and related assets in support of U.S. Air Force logistics missions.

This role focuses on asset tagging, accountability, and transfer of materiel to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) while ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established logistics processes.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of material handling practices, warehousing operations, and supply-chain workflows.
  • Familiarity with aircraft parts and aerospace logistics environments preferred.
  • Ability to record and maintain logistical and asset data precisely.
  • Skill in operating material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, procedures, and checklists.
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability for government property.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a logistics team.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, sort, store, and issue aircraft parts, components, and related materiel.
  • Physically move aircraft parts using material-handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, hand trucks).
  • Perform asset tagging and identification in accordance with Air Force and DLA requirements.
  • Support the transfer of assets to DLA, ensuring items are properly documented, packaged, labeled, and staged.
  • Maintain accurate logistical data and process documentation throughout the lifecycle of asset movement.
  • Enter, update, and validate material transactions in government logistics systems (e.g., IUID, inventory, transfer documentation).
  • Verify stock numbers, serial numbers, condition codes, quantities, and locations.
  • Assist with inventory counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and handling procedures for aircraft parts and sensitive equipment.
  • Coordinate with logistics, supply, quality, and program personnel to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Maintain clean, organized storage and staging areas in accordance with base and safety standards.

Required Knowledge/Experience
  • Technical Knowledge

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs; occasionally heavier with assistance or equipment.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods.
  • Work performed in warehouse, hangar, or industrial environments.
