Job summary

Maco PKG is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support our manufacturing operations in Newark, NY. This role moves raw materials, supplies, packaging components, and finished goods using a forklift and other equipment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts safely, stocking production areas, moving products to storage, and maintaining organized work spaces. Prior warehouse experience and SAP familiarity are a plus. Full-time, hourly, non-exempt schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating material-handling equipment preferred.
• Forklift experience/certification preferred; training may be provided based on Maco's requirements.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Move completed product from production areas to designated storage or staging locations.

• Follow proper material identification, handling, storage, and packing procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas.
• Follow all safety, GMP, food-safety, and company procedures.
• Assist with other material-handling and production-support duties as assigned.
• Experience with inventory control and physical counts.
• Ability to operate a barcode scanner (SAP knowledge preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Training

Employees receive applicable training in areas including OSHA/safety awareness, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, emergency procedures, GMPs, and food safety.
