We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as aMaterial Handler / Warehouse & Yard Associate. This critical role supports daily operations by handling materials, serving customers, operating equipment, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment.

Team members enjoy a variety of responsibilities in both our warehouse and outdoor yard, providing a dynamic work environment with consistent and reliable work assignments.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in customer service, and values safety. Most skills can be learned through hands‑on training, making this a great opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Lift, move, and handle steel and other materials weighing 50+ pounds regularly.
• Accurately fill customer orders in a timely manner.
• Assist customers with steel purchases by identifying products, cutting materials, loading orders, and providing product recommendations.
• Pull, cut, and prepare orders manually and/or using a forklift while following proper lifting and safety procedures.
• Operate shop equipment after training, including:
  • Saws,Ironworker,Drill presses, Other production equipment
• Process customer orders and special orders with accurate documentation and paperwork.
• Use tape measures and digital calipers to identify, measure, and label materials accurately.
• Read and work with fractions and standard measurements.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify paperwork, identify discrepancies, and safely store materials.
• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and secure materials on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, including replacing consumables and reporting maintenance needs.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

• Ability to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and work with fractional measurements.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime as business needs require.

Preferred

• Forklift certification or previous forklift experience.
• Experience with inventory control, inspection documentation, or fleet tracking systems.
• Experience working in a warehouse, steel service center, fabrication shop, or construction-related environment.

Schedule

Monday Friday : 8:0 AM 5:0 PM, 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery, materials, vehicles, and equipment.

Work Environment

This position works in both warehouse and outdoor yard settings within a steel distribution and fabrication environment. Employees regularly work around heavy materials, forklifts, trucks, trailers, and production equipment. Required PPE must be worn at all times.
