Job summary

Sonoco Products Company is seeking a Material Handler in DeForest, WI, for a 2pm–10pm shift. The role involves operating a forklift, unloading and staging raw materials, and ensuring proper labeling for shipments.

You will move finished goods, replenish supplies, and follow the warehouse production schedule while adhering to safety and food safety guidelines. Team members enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Safety oriented and compliant with safety guidelines.
• Familiar with LP gas tank handling.
• Familiar with banders and stretch wrappers.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift during routine duties.
• Unload, receive, inspect, and stage raw materials, scrap dunnage, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
• Remove finished products from production areas with proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specs.
• Replenish supplies in assigned areas.
• Review warehouse production control schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.
• Ensure finished goods are properly documented for shipment.
• Stage and load finished goods and materials per the production control schedule.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support and follow food safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Wage: $29.38

While reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift while handling raw materials and finished goods.

What you’ll be doing:

• - Operates forklift during routine performance of duties.


• - Unloads, receives, inspects, and stages raw materials, scrap dunnage, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.


• - Removes finished products from the production areas ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications.


• - Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas.


• - Reviews warehouse production control schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.


• - Ensure finished goods are properly documented for shipment.


• - Stages and loads finished goods and materials in accordance with warehouse production control schedule.


• - Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

• - Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.


• - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
