• Operate lifting devices like forklifts to load and unload materials.
• Inspect product load for accuracy to ensure timely delivery.
• Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from transport vehicles.
• Position lifting devices to secure materials for transport.
• Weigh materials and record production data accurately.
• Follow FIFO order for material handling.
• Forecast and stage materials to maintain smooth production flow.
• Inspect equipment to identify and report defects.

Responsibilities

• Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel‑hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
• Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
• Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO.
• Forecast needs of the line and stage the line appropriately to maintain necessary materials available that allow production to run smoothly.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or material to identify causes of errors or other problems or defects and report them through the appropriate channels.
