Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc seeks a reliable material unloading associate to safely unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks at our chemical plant site. You will comply with PPE and safety requirements, operate unloading equipment, and maintain accurate documentation.

Role requires physical stamina, the ability to work outdoors, and attention to detail. Training is provided, and pre-employment screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a chemical plant or industrial environment preferred but training provided.
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs or more.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and dusty/industrial environments.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks safely and efficiently.
• Follow PPE and safety training requirements and site regulations.
• Operate unloading equipment and perform routine checks on hoses, pumps, valves and related machinery.
• Complete paperwork and logs for unloading, including quantities and labeling.
• Communicate with team and supervisors to address issues and maintain smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow housekeeping standards.
• Participate in emergency response drills and follow procedures as required.
• Perform additional duties to support plant operations.

What You\'ll Be Doing

• Raw Material Unloading: Safely and efficiently unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all site and unit safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety training programs.
• Equipment Operation: Operate unloading equipment and tools such as hoses, pumps, valves, and other related machinery. Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Documentation: Accurately complete required paperwork and logs related to material unloading, including tracking quantities and ensuring proper labeling.
• Communication: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other plant personnel to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise during unloading activities.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with site housekeeping standards.
• Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response drills and procedures as required by the plant.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and ensure smooth workflow, as needed.

Ideal Background / Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience: Previous experience in a chemical plant or industrial environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand written instructions, safety guidelines, and operational procedures.
• Basic verbal communication skills to interact with team members effectively.

• Physical Demands: This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to industrial environments, including noise, dust, and chemical odors.
• Safety Measures: The worker will be provided with all necessary safety equipment and training to perform the job safely.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
