Becton Dickinson is seeking a Material Handler in Tucson, AZ to move materials and finished goods within the plant. You will unload shipments at dock, maintain labeling accuracy, and support routine warehouse tasks while following SOPs and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant.
  • Receive At dock process for carriers delivering finish goods, including unloading and proper handling.
  • Ensure cleanliness in shipping/receiving areas.
  • May maintain records.
  • Attach correct labels to product received or processed.
  • Develop skills in basic tasks within one skill area.
  • Follow SOPs and quality guidelines.
  • Notify Quality Representative of quality problems.
  • Maintain warehouse quality standards and report damages.
  • Adhere to safety regulations of the warehouse.
  • Coordinate work with team members; demonstrate teamwork and company core values.
  • Operate radio frequency devices or computer systems as required.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations affecting the warehouse.
  • Adhere to BD Quality, Safety, and Environmental manuals and enterprise IT systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Be available to rotate shifts as needed.

Job Summary

The material handler uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, handcarts, to move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Move materials, parts, and finished products within the Tucson plant.
  • "Receive At dock" Process as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for Carriers delivering Finish Good material to include unloading of goods and supplies and ensure the proper handling of the same.
  • Ensure the Cleanliness, housekeeping on shipping and receiving area.
  • May maintain records.
  • Ensuring correct and complete identifying labels are attached to all product processed when received, prior to storing or processed.
  • Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.
  • Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
  • Works within clearly defined SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
  • Notify Quality Representative and crew leader/ supervisor of quality problems.
  • Maintain quality Standards, requirements within the warehouse and keeping track of all damage, reporting the same to the supervisor’s authorities.
  • Working in accordance with all Safety regulation of the warehouse.
  • Coordinating work with fellow workers and other team members. Teamwork environment is to be reflected as well as company core competencies/core values in performing work duties.
  • Using a held hand radio frequency, computer system or desktop computer system as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations that affect and impact the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards as defined in BD Quality, Safety and Environmental manual and enterprise I.T System.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Availability to rotate shifts based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
  • 1 year experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.

Physical Demands

Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials; stand and walk for extended periods; and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
