Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Material Handler to move, store, and manage transformer materials. You will pull, verify, and stage materials for production and distribution, while maintaining safety standards and accurate records.

The role requires forklift operation, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and on-time delivery. Relocation expenses are covered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1 year of experience in material handling equipment preferred.
  • WMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move, store, and manage materials for transformers to ensure on-time production and shipment.
  • Pull materials from inventory and verify against production orders.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment to move items.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and cycle counts as needed.
  • Prepare finished stock for shipment and label materials accordingly.

The Material Handler isresponsible for moving, storing, and managing various materials for transformers.They play a key role in the supply chain and logistics, ensuring that products are available to the team when needed and that shipments are on time and meet quality standards. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

  • · Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
  • · Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • · Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • · Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
  • · Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • · Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
  • · Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials
  • · Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
  • · Receive and inspect incoming materials and products for quality, quantity, and accuracy of shipment.
  • · Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • · Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • · Mark units with identification tags or other labeling equipment.
  • · Handling documentation of work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
  • · Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • · Assist with inventory control and audits as needed.
  • · Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • · Other assigned duties as needed.
Requirements
  • · 1 year of experience in material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
  • · WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
  • · A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • · Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • · Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • · Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • · Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • · Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • · Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
  • · Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • · Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • · Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

· Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • · Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • · Standing and walking for long durations
  • · Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • · The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • · Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
  • · Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
