Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is hiring a Material Handler on-site in Melbourne, FL. You will read work orders, move materials, open containers, load and unload, and ensure proper packaging and labeling.

This contract-to-hire role requires forklift experience and accuracy in ERP-based records. You will count, weigh, and record materials moved, use hand tools to brace shipments, and work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year stockroom/warehouse experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, scanners, and cycle counts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials to transport.
• Open containers using hand tools.
• Load materials to and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials to and from vehicles.
• Use hand tools to install strapping, bracing, or padding to protect materials in transit.
• Transport materials from storage or worksites to designated areas using a hand truck or similar device.
• Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system.
• Attach tags or labels to materials.

Job Title:Material Handler

Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Compensation:$17.00/hr+

Schedule: 9/80 Mon-Fri (every other Friday off)

About the Opportunity:

Acara is currently seeking a Material Handler for our client, a leading organization in the defense & aerospace sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving and cycle counting.

What You'll Do:

• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials to transport
• Open containers using steel cutters, a crowbar, a claw hammer, or other hand tools
• Load materials to and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Load materials to and from vehicles
• Use hand tools to install strapping, bracing, or padding to protect materials in transit
• Transport materials from storage or worksites to designated areas-including the manufacturing floor-by use of hand truck, electric dolly, or another device
• Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
• Attach tags or labels to materials (or otherwise mark information)

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 1 year of stockroom / warehouse experience (receiving, put-away, picking, staging)

• Experience operating a stand-up forklift

• Inventory systems experience (ERP, scanners, cycle counts)
• Ability to stay focused, work independently, and finish assigned work without constant direction

Additional Information:

• Able to lift up to 30 pounds
