Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company seeks a Material Handler to support inventory management, stocking, and material movement in our manufacturing cells. You will package parts for storage or shipment and assist with waste disposal in compliance with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include maintaining real-time inventory, coordinating with the material control team, and conducting regular counts to ensure accuracy and production flow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory in manufacturing cells and real-time digital movement of inventory.
• Stock production cells with materials needed for production daily.
• Move parts through departments to support manufacturing flow.
• Package parts for storage or shipment per packaging instructions.
• Complete hazardous waste disposal tasks per guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate with material control on movement of product to/from warehouses.
• Conduct cycle counts, wall-to-wall counts, and spot checks.

Job Description

The Material Handler will perform a variety of tasks involved with inventory management, stocking, moving work in process, coordinating explosive quantity limits, packaging, and waste disposal necessary to facilitate efficient flow in our manufacturing cells. Responsibilities include:

• Adhere to all safety standards and written instructions.
• Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory in manufacturing cells including electronic movement of inventory in real time to keep up with physical movements.
• Ensure production cells are stocked with materials needed for production each day.
• Move parts that are work in processes through various departments at a regular daily cadence to support manufacturing flow.
• Package parts for storage or shipment in accordance with strict Packaging Instructions / Specifications.
• Complete hazardous waste disposal tasks in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate with material control team on movement of product to and from warehouses.
• Audit inventory, including cycle counts, wall to wall counts, and spot checks.

Requirements

• Positive attitude, flexible, energetic, ability to work independently.
• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
• Contribute towardscontinuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Skills

• Material handling experience.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
