Job summary

Georg Fischer Central Plastics in Shawnee, OK is seeking a Forklift/Warehouse associate responsible for picking, packing, and shipping orders while following all safety and ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Must have some previous verifiable forklift experience.
• Knowledge of common manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Certified by Georg Fischer Central Plastics for lift truck use and maintenance.
• Must pass Georg Fischer Central Plastics lift truck test.
• Must be able to use SAP and understand priority scheduling system.
• Self-motivated to work quickly and accurately with little supervision.
• Able to work closely with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to accurately handle all paperwork (pick tickets, receipt tickets, manufacturing orders, labor cards, MSTs).
• Must be mature and responsible, able to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.

• Use SAP to scan locations, items, and fulfill orders.

• Load and unload trucks using forklift.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
• Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHAS 18001 where applicable.
• Assist inventory control by reporting deviations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Attend as scheduled.

Primary Responsibilities

• Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked.
• Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation.
• Required to perform daily safety inspections per lift per shift.
• Use wireless RF gun (SAP) to scan every location and every box/pallet, to pick, pack, and ship customer or manufacturing orders.
• Safely operate picking equipment; high-quality order picker, sit-down and stand-up forklift, jack stand, and electric pallet-jack to pick customer orders.
• Use computer to look up inventory levels and priorities.
• Safely operate forklift to load and unload trucks.
• Work overtime as needed to maintain customer service.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers, line lead, team leader, supervisor, and manager.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 verification requirements.
• Assist inventory control by reporting inventory deviations.
• Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skill Requirement

Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions

Typical warehouse/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas as well as heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs. in a safe manner.
• Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
• Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with the ability to judge depth and space relationships and bring object into sharp focus.
• Must be able to accurately recognize and translate numbers without transposing.
• Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required in manufacturing only).
• Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required).
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.
