Job summary

Curtis Lumber Co, Inc. in Schroon Lake, NY, is hiring Yard Material Handlers to provide exceptional customer service in our outdoor yard environment, loading, unloading, and storing material with proper PPE.

Starting rate is $18–$21 per hour with annual performance-based raises. Full-time, 40+ hours per week with a consistent schedule and weekly pay; includes a comprehensive benefits package and profit sharing after one year.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a retail/outdoor setting.
• Experience with inventory and product merchandising.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management and merchandising of product
• Safe and proper use of equipment and materials
• Work outside year-round in a variety of seasonal weather conditions
• Customer service skills to service our customers
• Full time 40+ hours per week – Consistent schedule – Ideal retail hours
• Paid weekly on Fridays
• Discretionary profit share after one year of employment
• Six paid holidays and PTO immediately
• Must be able to lift 50-80lbs regularly and able to operate a propane forklift safely
• Must wear PPE
• Building material product knowledge a plus
