Job summary

Coastal Logistics Group in Savannah, GA is seeking a Material Handler to support daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory handling, and load coordination. You will help ensure accurate and timely movement of goods in a safe, organized environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting orders, maintaining a clean workspace, following safety policies, aiding cycle counts, and assisting with other duties to support the team.

Qualifications

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions and apply critical thinking.
  • Previous dock or warehouse experience within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Experience loading and unloading trailers.
  • Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing orders for processing.
  • Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment to ensure accessibility for employees and customers.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; perform all tasks in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Assemble products as needed and participate in cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
  • Take check calls from drivers to confirm delivery status; verify and validate load data prior to marking loads as delivered for accounting accuracy.
  • Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to ensure shipments arrive on time and in good condition.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as needed to support the team.

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment

Work Schedule
  • Days: Monday through Saturday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
