Job summary

TransPak Inc. in Salt Lake City is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support warehouse operations, stocking and moving materials, loading/unloading trucks, and preparing items for production or shipping.

You will work closely with a safety-minded team, follow standard SOPs, and contribute to continuous improvement through accurate material handling, reporting maintenance needs, and maintaining an organized storage system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
• Must be at least 23 years old for driving.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Follow safety procedures and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or instructions to determine material needs.
• Move materials to storage/production areas using hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Load/unload trucks and deliver to local customer sites.
• Support continuous improvement projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe, organized warehouse and storage system.
• Report equipment defects or maintenance needs.
• Work with teammates in a fast-paced production environment.
• Drive box truck delivering crates and materials to local sites.

Job Description

Position Summary

A Material Handler is responsible for contributing to the Material Handling team’s high-performance and engagement in safety and standard operating procedures.Maintains the warehouse operations including stocking, moving materials or stock, loading/unloading trucks, maintaining an organized warehouse and its storage system and/or production facility. Prepare materials for production use or shipping/receiving. Will provide coaching and regular feedback for continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment. Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• May perform special continuous improvement projects as needed.
• Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member
• Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
• Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
• Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
• Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Driving box truck delivering crates and materials to local customers sites.

Marginal Functions

• Housekeeping: sweeping and disposing of scrap or other miscellaneous items.
• Perform other related work as assigned.

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred

• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Forklift experience and able to maintain certificationson equipment such as forklift certification or pallet jack training, as required by site.

• Open to work overtime, weekends and occasionally holidays
• One (1) year inventory management experience
