Job summary

Chano And Sons in West Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to load, unload and stage materials for production. You will stock, label, and rotate inventory, and help keep GMP, 5S standards, and food safety procedures in place.

You'll work with production and quality teams to verify shipments, maintain accurate records, and support cycle counts. A high school diploma is preferred; forklift certification is a plus; prior warehouse or food-manufacturing experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Basic math and inventory counting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and material labels in English.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, ingredients, and packaging components using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
  • Supply production lines with necessary materials in a timely manner to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure all materials are correctly labeled, stored, and rotated (FIFO) to maintain product quality and food safety compliance.
  • Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of quantities, item descriptions, and lot numbers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
  • Follow GMP, 5S/6S standards, and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Keep all work areas clean and organized, performing routine housekeeping tasks and disposing of waste properly.
  • Collaborate with the production and quality teams to ensure material traceability and compliance.
  • Report damaged goods, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and complete equipment checklists when required.

  • Must be able to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (training/certification provided if necessary).
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced production and warehouse areas.
  • Exposure to food ingredients, allergens, and sanitation chemicals.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
