Qualified Staffing is seeking a dependable Material Handler for our client in St. Clair, MI to ensure production has the proper materials, packaging, and components to keep operations running smoothly.

This 2nd shift role requires lifting up to 55 pounds and willingness to learn in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include managing materials, assisting with job setups, inventory counts, and adhering to process instructions while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Good reading and math skills
• Previous material handling experience preferred
• Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo/Forklift license
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
• Good performance and attendance record
• Ability to demonstrate competency through testing and job performance after training
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain the proper raw materials, packaging, and components for each job
• Assist with new job setups and pre-dry materials
• Mix materials according to process requirements using mixers, fines separators, and manual mixing
• Clean and maintain dryers, loaders, hopper filters, and grinders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist with employee breaks as needed
• Assist with monthly inventory cycle counts
• Follow process manual instructions and the production board system
• Properly utilize and document materials
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands to handle tools, controls, and materials. The position also requires the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 55 pounds.
